Terms of Service

These terms form the agreement between you and Mitoba Consulting Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) — a company registered in England and Wales — governing your use of the SDET Coach mobile application and any related websites or services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, starting a free trial, or subscribing, you confirm that you have read, understood and accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

1. Who can use SDET Coach

You must be at least 17 years old to use the Service. The Service is intended for adult professionals preparing for technical interviews. You must have the legal capacity to enter a contract in your country of residence. If you use the Service on behalf of your employer, you warrant that you have authority to bind them to these terms.

2. Your account

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. You are responsible for keeping access to that email address secure — anyone who can read your inbox can sign in as you. Tell us immediately at info@mitobaconsulting.com if you believe your account has been compromised. One person, one account. Do not share accounts.

3. Subscriptions, pricing and billing

SDET Coach offers the following paid plans, billed through the Apple App Store (in-app purchase) or Google Play (Play Billing):

  • Monthly — £4.99 per month (UK / Western Europe), $5.99 per month (US / Canada), or $1.99 per month (rest of world), auto-renewing.
  • Annual — £55 per year (UK / Western Europe), $69 per year (US / Canada), with regional equivalents elsewhere, auto-renewing.
  • Lifetime — £119.99, one-time purchase, non-renewing.
  • Extra Job Match credits — from £1.99 / $1.99 each (regional pricing applies), one-time purchase, non-renewing. Each credit unlocks one additional AI-generated Job Match.

Job Match included allowance. Subscribers in UK / Western Europe (£4.99/mo plan) and North America ($5.99/mo plan) receive one Job Match per calendar month bundled with the subscription. Additional matches in the same month require a Job Match credit. Subscribers in other countries (the $1.99/mo plan) do notreceive a bundled Job Match — every Job Match run is purchased separately as a Job Match credit. Free-trial users receive one Job Match for the duration of the trial regardless of region. The included allowance resets on the first day of each calendar month and does not roll over. Credits are non-expiring.

Prices shown are the UK prices unless otherwise stated. Users in other countries see equivalent local prices set by the app stores, which may differ due to tax, currency conversion and Apple/Google tier pricing. The price in your local currency is displayed on the paywall before you confirm purchase. Taxes (including VAT and sales tax) are collected by Apple or Google and included in the price shown at checkout.

3.1 Free trial

New subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial on the monthly or annual plan. No payment is taken up front to start the trial. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the paid subscription begins automatically and you will be charged the plan price. The free trial is available once per Apple ID or Google account.

3.2 Auto-renewal (iOS)

Monthly and annual subscriptions are auto-renewing. Payment is charged to your iTunes / Apple ID account when you confirm purchase. Your subscription renews automatically at the same price (subject to price changes — see below) unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple charges the renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription by going to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your device after purchase.

3.3 Auto-renewal (Android)

On Android, subscriptions renew automatically through Google Play Billing until cancelled. Manage your subscription at Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions.

3.4 Price changes

We may change subscription prices from time to time. Any price change will be notified to you in-app and by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. You may cancel before the change takes effect; continued use after the change means you accept the new price.

4. Cancellation

You can cancel any auto-renewing subscription at any time. Cancellation stops the next renewal but does not issue a pro-rata refund for the current billing period — your access continues until the end of the paid period.

  • iOS: open Settings > tap your name > Subscriptions > select SDET Coach > Cancel Subscription.
  • Android: open the Google Play Store > tap your profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > select SDET Coach > Cancel subscription.

5. Refunds

All payments for subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We do not take direct payment and cannot process refunds on their behalf. Refunds are handled under Apple’s or Google’s published refund policies:

UK and EU consumers have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. By starting a subscription and accessing digital content immediately, you expressly consent to the service being supplied before the end of the 14-day cancellation period, and you acknowledge that you thereby lose the right to cancel once the subscription period has started. Those rights are not limited by this clause where they apply by law.

The Lifetime plan is a one-off purchase tied to your Apple ID or Google account. We cannot migrate it between platforms.

6. What you get and what you can do with it

Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, limited licence to use the Service for your own interview preparation on devices you own or control.

The question bank, sample answers, AI feedback and all other content (“Content”) are owned by us or our licensors. You may use the Content to study; you may not:

  • resell, redistribute, republish, or syndicate the Content;
  • use it to train or fine-tune a machine learning model;
  • scrape or bulk-export the question bank;
  • use it as source material for a competing product;
  • share your account or paid access with people who have not paid.

7. User content and AI feedback

When you submit an answer to a practice question, that answer is processed by our AI feedback pipeline (Anthropic’s Claude API) to return coaching notes. You retain ownership of your answers. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to process your answers for the purpose of delivering the Service, improving it (in aggregated, de-identified form), and debugging or preventing abuse. You must not submit content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or contains other people’s confidential information.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • access the Service other than through the official iOS or Android app;
  • probe, scan or test the vulnerability of our systems without written permission;
  • attempt to circumvent paywalls, entitlement checks, rate limits or receipt validation;
  • use the Service in a way that violates export laws, sanctions, or any other applicable law;
  • harass, threaten or otherwise abuse any support channel (including reports filed through the in-app “Report a content issue” flow).

9. Reporting content issues

If you believe a question, sample answer, or AI response is incorrect, misleading, objectionable, or infringes your rights, use the Report a content issue flow in the app (Settings > Help) or email info@mitobaconsulting.com. We review reports and remove or correct content as needed, typically within one working week.

10. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service up, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may update, change or withdraw features at our discretion. We’ll give reasonable notice for material changes that reduce functionality you’ve paid for. If a material reduction happens during a paid annual or lifetime term, you may request a pro-rata refund through us by emailing support.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from Settings > Account > Delete account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, if continued use would expose us to legal risk, or if Apple or Google requires it. Where termination is for breach, we will not refund unused subscription time.

12. Warranty disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that the Service will make you pass any interview, that the AI feedback will always be correct, or that sample answers reflect the opinion of every interviewer. SDET Coach is study material — not personalised career advice, not legal or financial advice, and not a guarantee of employment. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

13. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that UK law does not allow us to exclude.

Subject to that, to the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • we are not liable for indirect, special, incidental, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or loss of business opportunity (including any job offer you did or did not receive);
  • our total aggregate liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us (through Apple or Google) for the Service in that period, or (b) £100.

14. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against any third-party claims, losses or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these terms, your misuse of the Service, or your content submitted through the Service.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are material, we’ll notify you in-app and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after the effective date of the change means you accept the new terms. If you do not, stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that if you are a consumer resident in the UK or EU, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and you benefit from any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of that country.

Before starting formal proceedings, please email info@mitobaconsulting.com with the details of your complaint so we have a fair chance to resolve it directly. UK consumers may also use the UK government’s dispute-resolution guidance at gov.uk/consumer-protection-rights.

17. Apple and Google notices

If you download the app from the Apple App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the Service. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.

If you download the app from Google Play: Google is not a party to these terms but is a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce them against you.
